The fight for the self-determined participation of people with disabilities has a long history. The development and implementation of the relevant legislation is the result of decades of efforts by activists and non-governmental organizations. The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) was a milestone in terms of changing attitudes towards people with disabilities receiving the support needed for equality. On this basis, quality of life and inclusion must be further improved to achieve full recognition of rights and universal accessibility in all parts of Europe so that people with disabilities can be active members of society as a matter of course. At the ESCIF Congress 2024, the efforts of European SCI organizations to improve participation will be presented. An active exchange and workshops will provide important stimuli for the further political work of the ESCIF member organisations.
La politique de participation
La lutte pour la participation autodéterminée des personnes handicapées a une longue histoire. L’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de la législation pertinente sont le résultat de décennies d’efforts de la part de militants et d’organisations non gouvernementales. La Convention des Nations unies relative aux droits des personnes handicapées (CDPH) a marqué une étape importante dans le changement d’attitude à l’égard des personnes handicapées, qui ont reçu le soutien nécessaire pour parvenir à l’égalité. Sur cette base, la qualité de vie et l’inclusion doivent encore être améliorées afin de parvenir à la pleine reconnaissance des droits et à l’accessibilité universelle dans toutes les régions d’Europe, de sorte que les personnes handicapées puissent être des membres actifs de la société comme une évidence. Lors du Congrès 2024 de l’ESCIF, les efforts des organisations européennes du SCI pour améliorer la participation seront présentés. Un échange actif et des ateliers fourniront des stimuli importants pour la poursuite du travail politique des organisations membres de l’ESCIF.

La lotta per la partecipazione autodeterminata delle persone con disabilità ha una lunga storia. Lo sviluppo e l’attuazione della legislazione in materia sono il risultato di decenni di sforzi da parte di attivisti e organizzazioni non governative. La Convenzione delle Nazioni Unite sui diritti delle persone con disabilità (CRPD) è stata una pietra miliare in termini di cambiamento di atteggiamento nei confronti delle persone con disabilità che ricevono il sostegno necessario per l’uguaglianza. Su questa base, la qualità della vita e l’inclusione devono essere ulteriormente migliorate per ottenere il pieno riconoscimento dei diritti e l’accessibilità universale in tutte le parti d’Europa, in modo che le persone con disabilità possano essere membri attivi della società come un dato di fatto. Al Congresso ESCIF 2024 saranno presentati gli sforzi delle organizzazioni SCI europee per migliorare la partecipazione. Uno scambio attivo e workshop forniranno importanti stimoli per l’ulteriore lavoro politico delle organizzazioni membri dell’ESCIF.
Die Politik der Teilhabe
Der Kampf für die selbstbestimmte Teilhabe von Menschen mit Behinderung hat eine lange Historie. Die Entwicklung und Umsetzung der entsprechenden Gesetzgebung ist Ergebnis der jahrzehntelangen Bemühungen von Aktivisten und Nichtregierungsorganisationen. Das Übereinkommen über die Rechte von Menschen mit Behinderungen, kurz UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention, war ein Meilenstein in Hinblick auf die Änderung der Einstellung zu und des Umgangs mit Menschen mit Behinderungen. Auf dieser Grundlage gilt es die Lebensqualität weiter zu verbessern, um in allen Teilen Europas die selbstverständliche Anerkennung der Rechte und eine durchgehende Barrierefreiheit zu erreichen, damit Menschen mit Behinderung aktive Mitglieder der Gesellschaft sein können. Auf dem ESCIF-Kongress 2024 werden die bisherigen Bemühungen der europäischen Organisationen für Menschen mit einer Querschnittlähmung vorgestellt, deren Teilhabe zu verbessern. Durch einen aktiven Austausch und Workshops werden wichtige Impulse für die weitere politische Arbeit der ESCIF Mitgliederorganisationen gegeben.Click here to change this text. The Congress fees charged are set at:
● Delegates (max 2) of ESCIF members & accompanying person – 450,00 €/person ● Participants of a member organization & her/his personal assistant – 525,00 €/person ● Patron members & her/his personal assistant – 525,00 €/person ● Any other participant and his/her/his personal assistant – 600,00 €/person
A daily feeon 23.5. 2024 (9.30 to 17.00) is 150,00 €/person including lunch and coffee breaks.
Extra nights in hotel per room (extra nights have to be paid directly at the hotel):

A single occupancy surcharge is Euro 100 per room. The deadline for registration is 17.4.2024.
