Vision, Mission and Strategies

The proposed new vison, mission and goals of the European Spinal Cord Injury Federation (ESCIF) have a clear focus on supporting the ESCIF member organizations and not spinal cord injured persons directly.

 Vision

ESCIF member organizations are able to deliver the highest standard of services to the Spinal Cord Injury community (SCI).

Mission

ESCIF provides customized support to European SCI organizations to improve the quality of life of people living with SCI.

Values

ESCIF believes in equal opportunities, equal rights and in an inclusive world for all people.

Objectives and Goals:

To reach the ESCIF vision of highest standard services provided by its members, the ESCIF board identified 3 objectives (fields of action) and 10 goals.

Goals in the field of networking and information:

ESCIF has a recognised network and presence in Europe. We are the leading information exchange platform for ESCIF members and a link to European SCI stakeholders.

1. 1. ESCIF creates platforms for ESCIF members to share knowledge and information and opportunities to collaborate on projects.
   2. We are the link between European SCI stakeholders, global SCI/Disability networks and ESCIF members by disseminating information.
   3. We have a political, scientific and commercial network with European SCI stakeholders.
   4. ESCIF collaborates with policy makers and lobbying stakeholders to influence policy in the interest of the ESCIF members.
   5. We develop a communication plan to ensure regular communication with ESCIF member organizations and European SCI stakeholder.

Goals in the field of resources:

Ensure sufficient financial and skills resources to secure sustainability for ESCIF and its members.

1. 1. We support ESCIF members to improve financial and skills resources, including training and knowledge exchange opportunities.
   2. Providing resources to implement ESCIF projects.
   3. ESCIF finances itself without a share of the congress fee.
   4. ESCIF secures enough funds to appoint an executive team to run the day to day running of ESCIF.

Goals in the field of governance:

Improve efficiency and sustainability of the ESCIF board.
