ESCIF would like to acknowledge and thank the following organisations and individuals:

               COLOPLAST A/S

Coloplast develops products and services that make life easier for people with very personal and private medical conditions. Working closely with the people who use our products, we create solutions that are sensitive to their special needs. We call this intimate healthcare.

Our business includes ostomy care, urology and continence care, and wound and skin care. We operate globally and employ 7,300 people.

Coloplast supports ESCIF. In 2009 and 2010 Coloplast supported meetings of the policy groups on "Central registries of persons living with SCI in Europe" and "Centralisation of the treatment, rehabilitation and life-long care of persons with spinal cord injury."

In 2009 Coloplast sponsored ESCIF’s participation in the ISCoS scientific meeting in Florence – providing both financial and practical support for the ESCIF poster on Setting the SCI Agenda in Europe. Again in 2010 Coloplast sponsored a consumer workshop at ISCoS 2010 in New Delhi Considering the benefits of a Global Consumer Organization which was chaired by ESCIF president Jane Horsewell and included a panel debate with members from Chinese and Indian consumer organisations, and representatives from both ASCoN and ISCoS.

Swiss Paraplegic Foundation - Standing for paraplegics since 1975

Thanks to the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation thousands of paraplegics in Switzerland have found their way back in a self-determining, active life.

Formed in 1975 by Dr med Guido A Zäch, the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation built a worldwide unique chain of extensive services aimed at a complete rehabilitation and a full reintegration of para- and tetraplegics into family, profession and society.

The Foundation helps all paraplegics in Switzerland and has a substantial backing in the Swiss population. 1.2 million households in Switzerland are member of the benefactor's union. In this or other ways, members of the benefactor's union not only help other human beings suffering from terrible blows, they also ensure care for themselves.

The Swiss Paraplegics Foundation offers all members, having payed their annual contribution, an instant compensation of CHF 150'000 in case of paraplegia due to an accident. The payment is made independently of any other insurance coverage.

A generous donation was given to ESCIF by the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation to help bring ESCIF to fruition. http://www.spv.ch

The Manfred Sauer Foundation

The Manfred Sauer Foundation kindly facilitated and assisted ESCIF by allowing ESCIF to hold our annual 2007 congress in April 2007 and an Executive meeting in November 2006. ESCIF would like to thank Manfred Sauer and all his staff for the courtesy and valuable help they extended to ESCIF.

The Manfred Sauer Foundation sees itself as a place of positive interaction between disabled people and the so called 'able bodied', where they can learn to master the reality of their lives with responsibility and fantasy. The foundation offers the opportunity for reflection, orientation and the exchange of ideas. It would like to guide you towards a healthy life style and a meaningful life.

The concept of the Manfred-Sauer-Foundation is based upon three intertwined focal points:

  1. By positively influencing the awareness of one's own body.
  2. By strengthening the physical and spiritual well being through a healthy organic diet and by increasing the independence.
  3. By self-sufficiency through creative activities in the handicraft workshops and the training program.

At corner stones of our fully wheel chair accessible establishment are enjoying a healthy diet, having fun through physical activities and spiritual and physical relaxation in the health centre and receiving creative impulses in the handicraft workshop and seminars.
