The newly-developed, educational resource on SCI, elearnSCI.org, was launched in London earlier this month.
Recognising the need to disseminate information about comprehensive management of SCI, the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) took the initiative to develop elearnSCI.org, a web-based teaching and educational resource.
The mission of elearnSCI.org is to improve the quality of lives of people living with spinal cord injury by disseminating awareness about spinal cord injury prevention and comprehensive management globally.
As the authority on the management of spinal cord injuries, ISCoS will aspire to promote free and easy access to relevant educational resources on “Comprehensive Management of Spinal Cord Injuries” amongst health professionals involved in SCI management and also amongst people living with spinal cord injury, their families, health care providers, policy makers and the community in general.

During the workshop that was held to present the resource in more detail, ESCIF’s President, Jane Horsewell (who was also a member of the elearnsci.org Editorial Committee) emphasised the importance of the tool for SCI consumers. Not only can the website be used as a teaching and information resource for professionals and consumers, but it can also play a significant role in raising awareness among policy makers and healthcare providers.
The website is open to all: go to www.elearnsci.org.
